The Hope Market is a program that aims to reduce food insecurity by providing access to food and necessities in a "market" format. Saturday is the busiest day in Hope Market and during the 4 hours that they are open, they can see up to 250 transactions. Volunteers can help by managing the welcome desk, stocking shelves, fridges and freezers or helping retrieve carriages from outside. Volunteer: Oakland Beach CleanupSave the Bay is looking for a team to help keep Narragansett Bay clean! Shoreline trash is ugly and dangerous to wildlife, and shoreline cleanups are a great way for volunteers to make a difference. WHERE: 889 Oakland Beach Ave, Warwick, RI 02889. This is the address for Iggy's...continue past this address and park in the Oakland Beach parking lot, and meet at the gazebo in the middle of the lawn. HOW TO PREPARE Bring your own water - we recommend a reusable bottle!Bring garden or work gloves (disposable gloves available).Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes, long pants, and dress for the weather.Plan time to shower and change afterward.Optional: Save resources by bringing your own trash grabber and bucket for collecting trash.SAFETY TIPS Use tick repellent and sunscreen (provided).Watch for poison ivy and don’t touch it! Learn to recognize it here.Stay within sight of the group.Watch your step!
