Habitat For Humanity of Greater Providence and East Bay

Since 1987, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Providence and East Bay has been an independently chartered affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI), the largest nonprofit homebuilder worldwide.

Our Mission
Locally, our mission is dedicated to building decent, affordable housing with families that live in substandard and unaffordable housing and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Our vision is seeing that all residents of the Greater Providence and East Bay area live in decent, affordable homes.

Globally, our vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Our global mission statement: Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Providence and East Bay serves the cities of:

Volunteers are at the heart of Habitat’s work. Because of our volunteers, whole neighborhoods improve and completely transform. Through this transformation, families achieve the strength, stability, and independence they need to build a better life.

We build and repair homes throughout the year, and we want your help – whatever your skill level is!

Construction & Repair
As a volunteer with our Construction or Home Repair teams, you will work with skilled Habitat staff, future Habitat homeowners, and Greater Providence area homeowners on a variety of home building and home repair projects. We provide all of the training and tools you need for the job.

Construction and Repair opportunities are Wednesday through Saturday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
