About the Organization: TVCRI strives to
fundamentally change the experience of growing older in RI by creating
‘villages’, communities of mutual support. Currently, they have established
villages in Aquidneck Island (Portsmouth, Middletown and Newport), Barrington,
Burrillville, Edgewood, Glocester, Providence, and Westerly, and
Bristol/Warren, Cumberland, Exeter, Jamestown, and Warwick are all in the
process of forming villages! In 2024, 367 volunteers provided over 14,000
touchpoint services to our members, including: drives to appointments or
errands, friendly calls and visits, home help visits, safety net checks, and
tech support visits. In this way, TVCRI help older adults stay in the home of their
choice while reducing their isolation and loneliness.
