Help us celebrate and support the incredible young people in our Workforce Development Program!
SCLT employs youth aged 14-24 from Providence, Pawtucket, and Central Falls at $15 per hour during fall, summer, and spring, providing them with hands-on experience in sustainable agriculture, food justice, and essential workplace skills.
Many of our youth participants come from families living below the poverty level in Rhode Island's most underserved communities.
For many, SCLT provides their first meaningful employment opportunity. Gift cards offer these hardworking young people:
- Recognition for their dedication and achievements
- Support for daily needs like groceries, clothing, and household essentials
- Resources to pursue their educational and career goals
- A tangible reminder that their community values their contributions
Our youth don't just learn to grow food; they develop leadership skills, explore career pathways, and transform their communities. The results speak for themselves: 93% go on to college or enter the workforce after graduation, 60% return for multiple seasons, and 90% consider careers in agriculture, environmental science, or food policy.
We're collecting gift cards to:
- Grocery stores (Stop & Shop, Shaw's, Whole Foods, etc.)
- Superstores (Walmart, Target)
- Amazon
Suggested denominations of $25-$50
Your support helps us continue building the next generation of food system leaders while providing youth with the tools they need to succeed. Together, we're growing more than food; we're growing futures.
