The YMCA of Pawtucket is seeking assistance with our frozen food distribution at our new food pantry, which we call our Free Bodega. Clients who want to access our limited frozen food selection sign up on our list and then get called when we have stock available; in this way we can make our way through the list and ensure an even distribution. We then schedule them to pick up the food. We are seeking a volunteer to conduct the scheduling and, ideally, many of the pickups. The scheduling can all be done from home at your leisure. The pickups would happen at our downtown Pawtucket location (ample parking available). This volunteer could set their own hours for pickups, but typically evenings might work best for most clients. We receive our food delivery on the first Wednesday of the month, so 1 or 2 main pickup times towards the beginning of the month would likely be sufficient. However, this volunteer would be free to explore the best system as this program is still only a month old and we are very open to its development. All YMCA vols must complete a BCI, online training, and reference check.
